Small bonsai and accessory plantings are kept in moist gravel trays to prevent the pots from overheating in the sun and drying out too quickly. The small pots are placed into the damp gravel and turned weeky for equal exposureto the sun. Each time the bonsai are turned, the roots must be checked to be sure that they have not grown out of the bottom of the pot.
